Prof. Eli Talmor, Chairman of the Coller Institute of Venture, gave an invited talk titled “The DNA of Private Equity and the Creation of Operational Alpha” at the WHU Private Equity Conference 2016. The meeting took place at the Vallendar campus of WHU – The Otto Beisheim School of Management, on March 31st-April 1st, 2016.
The WHU Private Equity Conference brought together students, academics, corporate representatives and politicians, and created a unique platform for discussing current topics in the private equity sector. The conference is part of the Campus for Finance series, entirely organized by students of the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. The dedication of the organizing committee, consisting exclusively of WHU students, produced a unique experience for everyone attending.
The WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is one of the most renowned German business schools, and enjoys an excellent international reputation. Founded in 1984 as “a university by the business community for the business community,” WHU has become a model for future-oriented research and teaching in the field of business economics. In 2015, the Coller Institute of Venture has awarded a research grant to Prof. Dr. Cristoph Hienerth, Chair of Entrepreneurship and Business Development at WHU, and Monika Hauck, M.Sc., a doctoral candidate, funding their research project “Innovation Accounting: A Holistic View on the Concept’s Application in Practice and Implications for Scholarly Discipline.”
Aside of his position at CIV, Eli Talmor is Professor at London Business School and founder of its Coller Institute of Private Equity. He was previously a finance professor at the University of California (UCLA and Irvine), University of Wisconsin, Tel Aviv University and the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).
Professor Talmor is the co-author of International Private Equity, broadly considered as the reference book on the private equity industry. He is frequently invited to deliver keynote speeches to business executives worldwide. His insights on a century of venture were published in Issue 2 of Coller Venture Review.
