China: Revitalising the private equity market

After a difficult period resulting from IPO lockdown and an economic slowdown, the Chinese private equity market is finally experiencing an upturn and a bullish return looks likely. With the lift of restrictive policies, investors are more confident and are expecting improvements in deal activity, fundraising and exits over the next 12 months. But growth is always accompanied with challenges. Quality deals are rare and valuations are high, liquidity pressure is still prevalent and the IPO exit channel, despite now being available is over subscribed.
